Do Not Sell
Do Not Sell or Share My Info
Last updated: 2026-08-14
The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information comes from California’s CCPA/CPRA and from similar laws in a growing number of US states. This page covers how it works here.
The Practice in Question
To be precise about what is and is not happening: Pastandpath does not sell personal information for monetary consideration. However, where advertising is displayed on pastandpath.com, advertising identifiers may be shared with ad partners, and state law may classify that as a ‘sale’ or as ‘sharing’. We therefore make the opt-out available rather than rely on a narrow reading.
- No prior relationship with Pastandpath is needed — the right belongs to every visitor to pastandpath.com.
What Happens Next
After you opt out, targeted advertising ceases but advertising may not. The site itself is unchanged — no content is locked, no feature is removed, and no reader is disadvantaged for having exercised the right.
How to Exercise This Right
Easiest first: switch on Global Privacy Control in your browser settings or via an extension — it is detected and honoured on every page load, automatically. Failing that, use the cookie banner where shown, or email hello@pastandpath.com, subject line ‘Do Not Sell or Share’. We never require an account to process an opt-out.
Our State Privacy Notice covers the remaining rights available under state law.
